Ayuba
Ibrahim Lawal celebrated his 30th year of living in Auchi on Tuesday at his
shop along Otaru Road to the amusement of all and sundry.
Ayuba who
is Popularly referred to as Professor Popotenyen was seen dancing to party
music played by DJ ten-ten in the heat of the hot Tuesday afternoon having
spent 3 decades of his life living in Auchi Sacred kingdom in harmony with friends
and fans who have now metamorphosed into family.
The event
drew crowds from different walks of lives as everyone within the area was drawn
to the CEO of Zico Arts’ comic relief cum entertaining signature appearance in
the character of Professor Popotenyen which has endeared and made him a
household name in Edo North’s Movie Industry.
Popotenyen hails
originally from Atte in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area and is a self-styled activist
as well as an advocate for development as evident in all his calls on government
of different era to remember the Atte road in view of bringing succor to the suffering
of his people through the construction of assessable roads to his village, Atte.
The graduate
of Graphic Arts and Design from the School of Industrial Art and Design in
Auchi Polytechnic is a multi-talented entertainer who amongst others has laid

In his interaction with jeyKAD, Ayuba expressed elation for having lived a lifetime of acceptance and accommodation in a land of peace and hospitality far away from his place of birth and origin.
“I’m
very happy that today makes it 30 good years since I entered Auchi on the 14th
day of July 1990. Looking back at some of the pictures I took then with friends
and colleagues gives me a lot of reason to celebrate as you can see me
celebrating. It’s a thing of joy that though I may not be the most God-serving
servant of God, I am among the living today as a lot of those I started with in
Auchi have passed on.
Furthermore,
I am more grateful for the support people of Auchi have shown me in all my
endeavors. The Otaru of Auchi Kingdom has in no small measure ensured that I enjoy
my stay in Auchi because of the continuous peace and harmony there have been in
all my 30years here. Long may he reign in good health and prosperity. I’d also
like to specially thank Mallam Lucky Marcus who encouraged me to go to school while
doing the works of art I’m known for. His continuous fatherly advice saw me
through my tertiary education in Auchi Polytechnic.
The people
of Auchi are the most accommodating people I have come across and this has made
Auch a home for me to the extent that I married an Auchi women to raise a
family with.”
Ayuba also
seized the moment to call on all Auchi Sons and Daughters both in Nigeria and
abroad to always remember home by driving down ideas, policies, actionable
plans and resources that will further place Auchi in her enviable height as the
mother of Edo North. He appealed that the Edo state government should as a
matter of urgency mobilize towards giving Atte the agelong desired road so that
economic activities will run smoothly as farmers from the community will now be
able to transport their products on good road networks to Auchi.
