Members of the All Progressives Congress drawn from the four wards of Auchi Sacred Kingdom have on Wednesday held a massive rally to canvass votes from the electorates in favour of the party flag bearers in the forthcoming Edo2020 Guber polls.

This is coming 72hours before the 19th of September 2020, a day set out for the voting exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to mark the end of mega Campaigns before the election day.

 

The crowd gathered in trickles at the early hours of the day at the Chief Kadiri Idaeo Royal House off Warrake road and fiercely metamorphosed into an intimidating mammoth crowd as members of the various wards joined in the seeming festivity to throw their weight behind Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu who is APC’s Gubernatorial Candidate and his running mate, Mallam Gani Audu.

Hajia Mariam (Commissioner), Engr. Saliu Ahmed (MD BORBDA), Hon. Hussein Garuba, Muhammed Bawa, Barr. Aliu, Jabella (ward1 APC Chairman), Sule Momodu (Etsako West’s APC Deputy Chairman) and a host of Party Bigwigs from the area graced the occasion

 

Special prayers were said in honor of Auchi’s first and only son to have graced the Chairmanship seat of Etsako West Local Government Council, the Late Prince (Barr) Hassan Kempis Kadiri of Blessed Memory. He was showered encomiums for being the pioneer founding member and builder of the APC _a feat that endeared him to the people for his absolute loyalty to party supremacy and subsequently led to his victory in the polls that earned him Chairman EWLGA until his transition from mother earth.

Hajia Mariam while addressing the crowd encouraged all and sundry to with all sense of responsibility ensure they come out en mass without fear of intimidation to exercise their inalienable rights of wielding their voting power through the instrumentality of the PVC come Saturday the 19th of September. She told the women to assume their roles as home builders to translate their efforts into helping Edo grow by voting massively for APC.

“itswa khi’itswa. I want to speak to our women because Mrs Ize-Iyamo has sent me to you as the chairperson of her campaign council. Having gone round Edo state canvassing for support for our candidate, I have came home  to crown my efforts. Professor Idia Ize-Iyamho has affirmed that the 35% women representation that has been promised will be actualized. Our women will be empowered to power Edo state’s Economy through entrepreneurial ventures. The farmers amongst them will be given the requisite tools and more to run their farms and because she is a medical doctor, she’s going to ensure that health centers are functional to improve on the health sector’s mandate of saving lives.

So I am appealing to you to make sure on Saturday you come out. Don’t come out alone. Carry your neighbors along to come and vote for APC. Inform your church members, Asalatu, social clubs and so on. Tell them to come vote for Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Mallam Gani Audu on Saturday…” she said.

She also stated that everyone must make sure they obey the rules of INEC to ensure that no ballot paper is wasted in the exercise and must make sure they come with their facemasks in line with NCDC’s prescription towards flattening the curve of the deadly Corona Virus disease.

On his part, the Sadiq of Auchi Sacred Kingdom, Engr. Saliu Ahmed stated that the race towards saving the soul of Edo state is that of Light overcoming Darkness and Truth overwhelming Falsehood.

“what God has destined cannot be changed. The elections coming up on Saturday by the grace of God is an election to retrieve the soul of Edo state and I am very happy that we the Auchi people started our Rally here because this family are very appreciative to the people of Auchi because the 1st executive chairman to have come from Auchi after so much efforts is from this family. He was our brother and father, Hon. Hassan Kadiri. May God forgive all his shortcomings and be pleased with his soul…

Today the people of Auchi have converged here because we are united by a single purpose _the goodness of our home and the goodness of Edo state. We have agreed that this goodness resides in the All Progressives Congress APC. This has been reflected through the former Governor and former APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomhole who has shown that he represents goodness…

While informing all that the celebration of APC’s victory has started already, he appealed that the people must seal the victory with their PVCs on Saturday the 19th of September.

 

The rally kicked off from Warrake road to Otaru road, Polytechnic road and from there to Benin-Okene Expressway through Igbei. The procession went through Jattu road to Aibotse/Akpekpe, proceeded to Igbira Camp headed back to main town and even though it had began to rain, the crowd and its leaders were not deterred to stamp their support for the APC’s candidates _a feat that many have adduced to pure love for the Party as they chanted “Auchi is APC, APC is Auchi!”
