H.A. Momoh, Otaru of Auchi Sacred Kingdom.
“While appreciating the turnout of our people and the wide acceptance of this initiative, it is noteworthy to state here that the man behind this idea is Sir Lucky Marcus a former President of our association. The support given to us by all goes to show that our people are peaceful and are in tune with the reason for this movement.
We thank God for the gift of Life and we say thank you to our father and King of Auchi Sacred Kingdom for his support to ensuring that peace continues to reverberate all through the Kingdom and beyond.”
Hajia Aperua (Mrs.), head and representative of Association of Professionals for Family Health Empowerment & Community Development in an interaction with Enaholo J.K. lauded the movement and all those behind it and appealed for a massive turnout of voters to all poling units in the area stating that the more votes coming from a region irrespective of the parties voted for goes a long way to serve as a bargaining tool for driving home developmental gains and dividends of democracy.
On his path, Sir Lucky Marcus told AUCHI BLOGspot that there is no alternative to peace and called on all to play their role in sustaining the peace that has driven Auchi forward beyond the reach of her real and perceived enemies. He stated that parents/guardians must in times like these educate their children/wards and inculcate the virtues of good manners in them to ensure that they don’t fall victim to the menace of thuggery before, during and after elections.
In all, the march was staged to dissuade and discourage thuggery, fanaticism, violence of any sort in view of the need to vote wisely as election is not war. The people of Auchi and beyond were encouraged to understand the peculiarity of Edo2020 election in view of COVID19 and were taught to always wear their facemask otherwise those who appear at polling units without same will be asked to leave the scene and will not be allowed to vote. This is in line with NCDC’s protocol that has been entrenched to ensure safety of life and to flatten the curve of the deadly Corona Virus Disease.
