I met her late last year (December 2020) at the Palace where she was being introduced to HRH Alhaji A.H. Momoh the Otaru of Auchi Sacred Kingdom by Hajia Aperua as a Professional in the Alignment of tyres and a fantastic Mechanical Engineer.
She is Miss Omoshe Sifau Braimah an unassuming daughter of Auchi, Etsako West, Afenmai and she is not just a Mechanical Engineer, she is in love with what she does as a professional.
Sifau attended and obtained her first Leaving Certificate at Akpekpe Model Primary School in the year 1995. From there she stepped into her secondary education in life at Ekhei Girls Secondary School but later went to Muslim Secondary School where she obtained her Secondary Leaving Certificate. Thereon, she got admitted into Auchi Polytechnic where she had her Ordinary National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in the School of Engineering Technology as a Mechanical Engineering major. She rounded off her undergraduate studies in the year 2008 and served her fatherland in 2010 at Ebonyi State.

Upon her return from the National Youth Service Corps, she decided to take on the practice of her profession by engaging the service of Master Lucky Agbonoga who thought her the art of Vehicular Alignment in Auchi Mechanic Site, Akharoma Village.
Here is what she said when asked why she chose to practice rather than take on some other sort of vocation, “I love the fact that Vehicular Alignment is a peculiar technology that affords me the opportunity to keep updating myself. This broadens my knowledge and opens my eyes to happenings all over the world in the area of vehicles.” She explained that Alignment of Vehicle is a very important aspect of Mechanical Engineering but not everyone has the ability to take on the task giving its nature. It takes diligence, painstaking patience and continuous study of modern technologies in the area of alignment to carry out the job excellently _she asserted.

Whilst she was being introduced to the Otaru of Auchi, her Master, Sir Sunday made bold to state that he has a lot of confidence in Sifau because she is not only a graduate from the school of Engineering but that she has an insatiable desire to learn and know more in the field she has chosen. I remember vividly how he recommended her services to all who were present at the Otaru’s Palace and promised to get her a shop where she can start small and kick off having completed her training.
In our last conversation, I was tempted to ask why she decided to engage herself in an art dominated more by men because if the tedious and dirty nature of the job. Here’s her response; “This is what I’ve always wanted to do. I simply went for what I love and today I’m practicing what I enjoy doing. I’m also empowered by the fact that my boss never held back while training me. He thought me all he knew, I did my research and practiced everything I was taught. Another thing about the job is that proper alignment of vehicles preserves and makes tyres last longer. As for my gender, it has no limit to the level I can go in this profession. There is nothing my male counterparts can do that I cannot pull through. It’s more about knowledge and not necessarily about strength. The job gives me joy and the opportunity to relate with different people all over the world” she answered with zest.
Her message for young ladies of Afenmai is that they have to empower themselves through skills acquisition, update themselves in their chosen vocations and professions so that when they provide services to customers, the customers will recommend them to other people because they were satisfied by the good job done.
On the issue of how much support, sponsorship or donations she has gotten to get all the equipments she needs for her practice, Engr. Sifau told Enaholo J.K. that not much support has been given her but that she was positive something good will come out of her chosen career. She is a believer in the saying that ‘Nothing Good Comes Easy’ and is optimistic that her good works will soon pay from the look of things.
We at AUCHI BLOGspot are using this medium to show to the world our sister and daughter who has not resorted to vices and obscenities just to make ends meet. She is a hard working young lady from Auchi who is struggling to carve her own niche and is positive her hands and brains can help her make the desired impact she’s aiming at even though the current harsh economic reality poses as an obstacle. She is also aspiring to be a inspiration to the girl-child in her own way to bring about a generation of motivated and strong-willed young women who will help better the society on all fronts
To this end, we celebrate her, we encourage her to keep the fire burning and call on well meaning/well to do Sons and Daughters of Afenmai to support this woman to the Glory of God and benefit of Mankind.
