5 months after a hint about Government’s decision to cede part of Auchi to the Warrake/Ivbiaro communities of Owan-East, a group of men from Warrake were reported to have announced to Farmers in Ogwaoghodo farmland that they (the farmers) must come to  Warrake and get licenses with which they can begin to operate as tenants on the lands.

A farmer who did not wish to be named informed Enaholo J.K. that the group of men who came in pickup vehicles and a public address system went around the farm over the weekend informing those who were around that henceforth, every farmer of Auchi extraction who currently uses the land for agricultural purposes must obtain a land use license from them in Warrake if they must continue to use the land for farming.

the men came on Saturday to announce around the farm area telling us to come collect land use permits from them in Warrake and that henceforth we are tenants in our own farmlands.

They said that failure for us to heed their call, they will cut down our palm and other trees including our crops.” He said.

He however stated that all the farmers on the land have been communicated and that there is going to be a meeting at Ekhei Primary School Auchi on Tuesday by 4pm for onward deliberations and brainstorming on the matter.

It should be noted that in the month of February, Mallam Amadiya hinted Enaholo J.K. that having had a meeting in Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu’s office, the DG of Edo state who was represented by the SSG had concluded plans to make Orle River the border point between Auchi in Etsako West and Owan East Local Government Area of Edo state. This claims were later dismissed as false and concocted towards divisiveness and anarchy.

However, AUCHI BLOGspot will bring you more on the narrative as it progresses.
